On Monday, 17 November 2025, the English Language Education Study Programme of Universitas Tanjungpura held its annual Studium Generale at the E-Learning Room of the Conference Building. The event ran from 07.30 to 17.00 WIB and was attended by around 100 students from the 2024 cohort, alongside lecturers and academic leaders from the programme.
The opening remarks by Urai Salam, M.CALL., PhD emphasized the faculty’s mission to prepare students as competent, globally minded educators and practitioners.

The highlight of the Studium Generale was the keynote address by Prof. Dr. Ardi Marwan, S.Pd., M.Ed., an alumnus of the 1997 cohort and the first English professor at a polytechnic in West Kalimantan.
His keynote, titled:
“Reimagining Future Identities: Empowering English Students for 21st-Century Global Citizenship”
offered students a forward-looking perspective on how English graduates can build impactful global identities.
