Pontianak — Literaverse 2026, an annual literacy event organized by the students of the English Education Student Association (EEDSA), was successfully held on 9–10 May 2026 at the Gedung Kuliah Bersama, Universitas Tanjungpura. Held for the third time this year, the event reflects the consistency and enthusiasm of the committee in organizing educational and creative programs for students. Literaverse 2026 involved 92 participants from various junior and senior high schools, supported by 55 committee members who collaborated to ensure the success of the event. Led by the head of committee, Zahira Zahira, the event aimed to provide a platform for students to develop their creativity, confidence, and English skills through various competitions.

One of the main competitions in Literaverse 2026 was the Speech Competition for senior high school students. Through this competition, participants demonstrated their public speaking abilities by delivering inspiring speeches on educational and social issues. The performances were assessed based on content, pronunciation, fluency, and stage presence. After a competitive judging process, the judges announced the winners based on the participants’ overall performances and delivery during the competition. The participants doubled than the last year with total of 42 speech participants. This huge leap was due to the creative promotion of the speech competition by the committee members.

Literaverse 2026 also featured a Poetry Reading Competition for senior high school students and a Storytelling Competition for junior high school students. Through these competitions, participants expressed their creativity, confidence, and emotional interpretation through meaningful poetry performances and imaginative storytelling presentations. The judges evaluated the participants based on pronunciation, expression, creativity, and overall performance. Both competitions received enthusiastic participation and showcased the students’ strong communication skills and creativity.

In addition to the onsite competitions, Literaverse 2026 organized an Online Singing Competition for senior high school students. Participants submitted video performances showcasing their vocal talent and creativity in performing English songs. The performances were assessed based on vocal quality, pronunciation, expression, and overall presentation. At the end of the event, the committee announced all competition winners and distributed certificates and awards to the participants. Overall, Literaverse 2026 successfully created valuable experiences for both participants and committee members. Through this event, EEDSA hopes that Literaverse will continue to inspire students to improve their literacy skills, creativity, and English proficiency in the years to come.
