Strengthening Academic Collaboration through the Visiting Professor Program with UIN Malang

Pontianak – The English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Tanjungpura, recently organized a Visiting Professor Program in collaboration with the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The program was designed to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions while providing students with opportunities to learn from scholars with diverse academic backgrounds and expertise.
The collaborative initiative involved reciprocal guest lectures delivered by lecturers from both universities. Conducted online via Zoom Meeting, the program primarily engaged sixth-semester students and served as a platform for knowledge exchange in the fields of language education, literature, cultural studies, and educational innovation.

One of the featured sessions was presented by Dr. Eni Rosnija, M.Hum. from Universitas Tanjungpura. Held on April 28, 2026, her lecture, entitled “Content Analysis in Cultural Studies,” introduced participants to content analysis as an important qualitative research approach for examining cultural texts, media representations, and social phenomena. The session encouraged students to develop critical perspectives and analytical skills that are essential for research in language, culture, and education.

Students and lecturers from Universitas Tanjungpura and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang participated in the online Visiting Professor Program through Zoom Meeting.
The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to engage in meaningful discussions regarding the application of content analysis in contemporary cultural studies research. The program also welcomed Prof. Dr. Mundi Rahayu, M.Hum. from the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. On May 8, 2026, she delivered a lecture entitled “Drama as Education: Developing Character and Confidence on Stage.” During the session, Prof. Mundi highlighted the role of drama as a powerful educational medium that promotes creativity, communication skills, character development, and self-confidence among learners.

Beyond the exchange of academic expertise, the Visiting Professor Program reinforced the partnership between Universitas Tanjungpura and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
